A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you've got a major new play that unflinchingly -- and uproariously -- exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. The show runs about 3 hours and 20 minutes long including two 10 minute intermissions.

This play was first performed at the Steppenwolf Theatre right here in Chicago, then went on to Broadway. In 2008, it won the Tony Award for Best Play, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Now, Crown Point Community Theatre has the honor of being the first theatre to bring this acclaimed play to Northwest Indiana!

Our intent with this production is to create a more intimate experience, that immerses the audience in the action. For that reason, seating for this particular show is limited, and we strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets online ahead of time.

We also recommend this show for mature audiences; it contains adult language, some adult situations, and depictions of drug use.
